OUR BACKGROUND AND HISTORY

The Managing Director, Arthur Barnes, started his working life as an architectural technician eventually starting in business for himself in the nineteen eighties.

He was approached by Cleveland County Social Services Department to assist the Occupation Therapists in specifying and deciding upon the assistance needed by disabled and infirm people.

In the early days the variation and availability of equipment and goods was severely limited and Cleveland Disabled Supplies was formed, in 1992, to source and supply it.

Diane Manuel joined the firm in 1994 and quickly acquired a vast knowledge of the industry becoming a partner in the firm some years later.

The partnership continued to expand until its incorporation as CDS (Disabled Supplies) Ltd in 2004.

Expansion has continued with the opening of Leeds Disability Supplies in 2006.
